About a brick

What is a simple way to think of a brick? of all the many ways and you probably have your own, one way could be to think of what is it about a brick that makes it a brick? thats why this blog is called Twice as long as it is wide but only half as high, the brick is a fundamental component of architecture and it can be fundamentally described by being twice as long as it is wide but only half as high.

For all the soaring beauty and complexity of a building, it can be made of simple component blocks that are twice as long as they are wide but only half as high, the world of technology and engineering solutions is no different in reality, the complexity of a grand building can be thought of in the same way as a highly complex machine or system.

This blog then tries to find the simple in the complex, the alternate view point, my goal as always is to look at a problem with a fresh pair of eyes from a different view point, to find the simplicity that is invariably inherent in complexity.

Viv Collins is a engineer and designer who now lives in Canada with his wife, together they own Gauthier Collins inc. an intellectual property development company that specializes in innovative technology solutions.
